SteelCo GmbH, Munich, („SteelCo“) signed and completed the acquisition of the Frauenthal Automotive-Division from Frauenthal Holding AG, Vienna, on 23 December 2025.
Frauenthal Automotive produces metal pressed and welded components (via Frauenthal Gnotec) as well as compressed air tanks (via Frauenthal Airtank) for the automotive & commercial vehicle industries. The businesses operate production facilities across Europe in Sweden, Germany, Slovakia and the Czech Republic, as well as sites in China and the United States. In 2024, Frauenthal Automotive generated revenues of €207.3 million and employed approximately 1,000 people.
SteelCo GmbH is a platform investment of RCP Group GmbH, Munich, ("RCP") and holds investments in companies with plants in Germany, Hungary and Belgium. Following the transaction SteelCo is expected to generate annualized revenues of approximately €345 million.
The local management teams of Gnotec and Airtank will remain in place, and employees will continue under existing employment conditions. SteelCo and RCP will support the business with operational expertise, strategic development and targeted investments to strengthen its competitive position and long-term sustainability.
The transaction enables Frauenthal Holding AG to sharpen its strategic focus on its remaining activities, while ensuring continuity and long-term development prospects for the businesses under a dedicated industrial owner.
